ChatGPT Plus plans is here, as expected. Since its public launch a few months ago, ChatGPT broke adoption records a few times in a short timeframe. It became the fastest tool to be adopted by 1 million users (5 days), and achieved record breaking 100 million users in two months. Curious minds and skeptics of flocked to the tool to test it, and now internet is filled with funny/useful/polarizing prompts that got pretty interesting answers from the generative AI tool.
As with many startups who saw incredible growth rates in short time, there were a few occuruences were users got the message saying ChatGPT was out of capacity, and the company was working hard to scale their systems globally.
Now Open AI releases another tool in their arsenal to manage bandwidth and, monetize the popular tool: Premium Subscription Plans.
Early February, the company announced that it will be rolling out subscription plans on their Twitter account:
Open AI’s Twitter account announced that it will be testing the new plan that will offer better uptime and faster response times. The free version is slated to remain as well, but we’re guessing new versions and updates will be made available to subscribed customers first.
The paid plan will be available for $20 per month, and it will be initially available for US customers. Users who wants early access can sign-up to their waiting list through this form. The company says they will expand the program to new countries in the following months.
Open AI also points out that they’ll also be launching the API waitlist and it is working on options such as lower-cost plans, custom data packs for the future.
